Diprotodon was a wombat cousin the size of a hippo

Diprotodon was a wombat cousin the size of a hippo. It was the largest marsupial known to have lived. There is some disagreement as to when it went extinct. Some say it died out shortly after humans arrived in Australia 50,000 years ago. Others believe the Diprotodon lived alongside humans for 20,000 years first. Diprotodon means “two forward teeth”.
