The heart of a blue whale weighs about the same as a gorilla

The blue whale is the largest animal known to have ever lived. Some reach as long at 28 meters (92 feet) from end to end. They’re a bit longer and heavier than Argentinosaurus, the biggest dinosaur we have on record. The heart of a blue whale averages around 181 kilograms (400 pounds)–the largest heart of any animal. Contrary to the old joke about an 800-pound gorilla sitting wherever it wishes, gorillas likewise average around 400 pounds each.
